Floods Slam Germany and Hungary

A dike near the German village of Rosenburg broke early on Sunday flooding three villages in the area.

Large parts of eastern Germany along the rivers Saale and Elbe flooded after extended periods of heavy rain.

Now there are mandatory evacuations under way. And its not just for people.

Tens of thousands have been forced to leave. Over the last week at least a dozen people have been killed as floods hit Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic.

A suburb of Budapest is under water after the Danube broke its banks — and the water is still rising.

People are doing what they can to stop the water.

Streets have become rivers.

"It's very hard to live under these circumstances, but we must remain calm and defend our houses."

Water levels are expected to recede next week — but authorities warn it will come at a very slow pace..

Plane crashes into apartment

A shocking sight. A small plane has slammed into an apartment building in Virginia. All three people on board survived and are currently being treated for injuries.

David Ventura owns the property and was asleep when the crash happened.

"Big smoke, you know, like huge smoke things, like someone has burnt something up but it was just like the dust of the drywall and everything."

"Did you know it was a plane?"

"I did not. I hoped to ask to the guy that was coming out of the aircraft…"

"So there's a guy coming out of the airplane in your living room."

"Yeah, yeah, you know… 'What are you doing here?' He said, 'We’ve just had an accident.' I said, Everybody okay here?' He said, 'Yes.'"

The plane which was heading for an airport in Philadelphia is thought to have had electrical problems before it crashed.

Whales Migrating North Put on a Show off the Coast of Sydney

Whale watchers off the coast of Sydney, Australia, were treated to a show by the sea mammals migrating north from the Antarctic to warm waters off Queensland on Friday.

The official whale watching season begins at the end of May and goes through to November when up to 20,000 whales will head north on their annual migration.

The whales breached the crests of waves and dived into deeper waters, delighting whale watchers by blowing spray as they cruised past Sydney's coastline.

Donkey Ordered Inside for Braying on Balcony

It's a hard life for show animals, especially those on the move, and this poor little donkey in Belgium is feeling the underside of the show business.

Trapped on the balcony of a cultural center in Brussels, Belgium, Lola the donkey is here to perform in a play The Palestinian. When she's not in the spotlight, her owner has decided to keep her outside for the fresh air and sunshine.

Problem is, the neighbors don't enjoy Lola's company. They complained to the police that the donkey was braying too much. The Belgian police then ordered the owner to take the donkey indoors but were refused.

Lola's owner said that she will be arrested before she puts her donkey indoors. I mean, if I was a donkey, I would rather be outside than indoors, and if you can't find a pasture, I guess the balcony is the next thing.

One of the neighbors says she sympathizes with Lola's owner but thinks Lola deserves greener pastures. And she's probably right, I mean just look at how narrow the balcony is, there's probably more space for the donkey if she moves inside. No wonder she's braying and licking the doors.

Lola the donkey may really end up returning to the pastures as police are coming back with animal welfare officers, presumably to take her away.

Daredevil stunts at Cliff Diving World Series

Performing daredevil dives off a French cliff, Artem Silchenko wins the opening event of this year's World Series.

The Russian performed an extremely difficult back armstand dive helping him to beat current champion Great Britain's Gary Hunt.

Enough to put most people off, the first meeting of the series featured the highest platform, a 27-metre former jail tower, and the coldest water at just 12°C.

The next event in the series will be held in Copenhagen at the end of June.

For others, completing the journey will be a victory in itself and a voyage of discovery.

Women Falls Into Fountain While Texting

In some states in the US it is illegal to text and drive. You know, makes sense, when you're flying down the road in a two ton cage of steel at 70 miles an hour, it's probably good to keep your eyes on the road.

Seriously folks, if you want to text, safety first. Do it while you're walking. Any idiot can do that.

Uhhhh, looks like that's not any idiot. Let's take another look at that graceful nosedive she did.

Man! That must have hurt. I mean hurt her pride. Oh man, if only there were, multiple camera angles.

Yeah!

Oh man, living in a police state where every action is recorded by unseen cameras could be so funny!

Did you have a good laugh? Well here's some fun facts for you people. Every second, seven million people die from texting and walking related accidents. Still laughing? It's the leading cause of death in the country second only to walking while chewing gum. So please, let's not let another tragedy like this happen again.
